1080 Poison Ban
Let's have Auckland organise a large scale total elimination project. By assembling existing components in the right way, we can prevent any lost funds, that are spent on concepts that struggle to make headway and require constant trapping and maintenance.
Why not not stop the use of 1080 by replacing the demand for it?
A phase-out of the perpetual forest drop of poison bait is a savings of money that is perpetually spent, that only maintains the problem.
Losses to farming output from pests is high, particularly the time of hard working farmers to spend shooting and trapping, which can become overwhelming and also create an unknown cost of farmer distraction from work. Pest control should be free for all farmers and one expert group of people should manage the solution.
Numerosity of mathematics: If 20 Bot Trap units are installed to effectively patrol Riverhead forest into a pest free state, with the same land ratio, we would need 125,000 poles for installation within same land area of the entire country. If zoologists and biologists determine a larger number is required, then potentially 250,000 Bot Traps will be installed nationwide. The advantages of the Bot trap are quite prime, self baiting, protecting the best vegetation, smart installation across access to water for animals and food source, studies show that animals require to cover a large area to forage for food. This makes co-existence with Bot Traps which cover land area impossible. Apparently all animals move around, deer, pigs, possums, magpie, rabbits, stoats. With 360 degrees on all dimensions, pest birds in trees and any future pests can be eliminated humanely.
Ryan has a keen interest in solutions and has applied for this concept to be funded from 2018 to 2021 through the GETS portal. Ryan was informed to attend the Tauranga pest control convention in around 2018 that was a great trip with a number of other interesting concepts.
