Static Population Growth

Is the meaning of success about bringing more people in to Auckland and to create more jobs? What’s more is there is a substantial cost to population growth and increased density that is overlooked?

Every time a subdivision is built, Auckland hospital has to be made a little bit bigger, schools have to be a little bit wider, drainage has to be that much bigger, power-line systems have to be completely overhauled to be that much thicker, water capacity that much bigger. Are these costs being correctly applied to development? Or are our general rates picking up the tab? Vote Ryan for mayor.

As mayor, Ryan will ensure the true cost of development is applied in the correct proportion to developers. Ryan asks; "Are developers leaning on existing services? Any compression of existing schools means less grass for kids, asset stripping the next generation of space, affordable housing and equal opportunities that the last generation benefited from." Ryan stands for a cap to Auckland's population at around 1.7M, making Auckland a hard place to get into and an easy place to live.
